After installing the DX-Fusion utility, a new option named
DX-Fusion will appear in the "Gateway of Tally" screen.
If you do NOT get the DX-Fusion option in Gateway of Tally screen, then please
refer the
Troubleshooting steps.
Step 1
Start Tally Software and open your Company. Next, in the "Gateway of Tally"
screen, select the option "DX-Fusion - Offline Upload".
Remarks:- DX-Fusion works only with Tally ERP 9 Release 1.61 and higher versions.
Step 2
Next, press Ctrl+K to transfer data from Tally into MS-Access.
Remarks :-
Uploading of data from Tally to MS-Access may take some time. A progress screen (as
shown below) is displayed when data is being uploaded.
Step 3
After uploading finishes, you can view the MS-Access database viz.
c:\wamp\www\dx-fusion\tally.mdb
Remarks:-
The default settings in DX-Fusion are :-
Database-Type is MS-Access
Database-Name is Tally
To change these default settings, read the next section.
To upload Tally data into MS-SQL Server, you need to change the database-type in
the
dx-fusion.ini file which is located in the c:\wamp\www\dx-fusion folder.
Step 1
Open the file "c:\wamp\www\dx-fusion\dx-fusion.ini" in Notepad.
Step 2
Uncomment the lines for DATABASETYPE for MS-SQL-Server and comment the line for
MS-ACCESS.
Step 3
Uncomment the lines for CONNECTIONSTRING for MS-SQL-Server and comment for
MS-ACCESS.
Step 4
Modify the Connection String for MS SQL-Server (the default settings are given
below).
Remarks:- The database-name is NOT to be changed or specified in the dx-fusion.ini
file.
Step 1
In Gateway of Tally, press Alt+F3. Next select option "Alter" and select
your Company.
Step 2
In the "Company Alteration" screen, specify the Database-Name as
required.
Step 3
Save the Company.
Remarks:- The database [name] which you specify in the Company Alteration screen, must
exist or must be created. Tables in the database shall be created automatically
by DX-Fusion.
Few sample queries are provided in the folder "c:\wamp\www\dx-fusion\sql-select\ms-sqlserver".
These SQL-statements have been tested with both MS-Access and SQL Server.
