udiMagic Settings

This page lists the udiMagic settings along with their description. (Applicable to v11 and higher)

Used for connecting to the Tally Prime Software.

The default values for this setting are :
Tally IP Address : 127.0.0.1
Tally Port : 9000

Usually, there is no need to change these default values. However, if Tally Prime is not installed in the same system (as udiMagic), then you must specify the IP-Address of the machine where the Tally Prime Software is running (not the Tally License Server).

Tips:
a) You can view or change the Port Number in Tally Prime Software using Gateway of Tally >> F12 >> Advanced Configuration.
b) You must be able to view the Port Number in the Configuration box in the Gateway of Tally. ex: ODBC Server on Port 9000.
c) Ensure that the Port Number specified in Tally Prime Software and udiMagic settings is the same.

Allows you to specify the batch-size (in nos or percentage) for uploading data into Tally.

Instead of one-by-one processing of records, udiMagic uses batch processing to improve speed/performance. Using this technique, bulk of records are read from the source (Excel), are processed and then uploaded into Tally Prime Software. This reduces the processing time drastically.

The default value is 5%.

When ticked / enabled, the Excel data is processed and uploaded into the Tally Prime Software.

The above option is enabled by default. There is no need to change this setting, and has been kept for backward compatibility purpose only.

When ticked / enabled, the Excel data is processed and written to a file named XMLtags.xml.

This option is disabled by default.

Tips:
This option is quite useful for trouble-shooting purpose, but requires XML knowledge. In layman's language, the XML data is the what is actually sent to Tally Prime Software.

When ticked / enabled, the Vouchers already existing in Tally are not overwritten but are skipped/ignored when data is imported into Tally Prime Software. A GUID (globally unique identifier) is used for identifying each Voucher.

This option is disabled by default.

When ticked / enabled, the udiMagic Software creates Masters in Tally Prime Software before uploading the Vouchers.

The above option is enabled by default.

Tips:
If you do not want udiMagic Software to create Masters but only create/upload Vouchers, then disable this option.

This option can be used only if the previous option "Create dependent Masters" is disabled.

Use (i.e. enable) this option if you do NOT want to create Masters, but want the udiMagic Software to display warning message if any Masters (Ledger or StockItem etc) does NOT exists in Tally.

This option is disabled by default

When ticked / enabled, you can access the Tally Ledgers (or other Masters) from within MS Excel.

The above option is disabled by default.

PS:
If the number of ledgers (or other masters) is too large in your Tally Company, then udiMagic may take a longer time to load.

Allows you to view the record creation / updation status in the Excel file after the import is completed.

The above option is disabled by default.

PS:
By default, bulk record (5%) processing is enabled. So the record creation / updation status is shown for bulk records only.

When ticked / enabled, the Master NAMEs will be converted to title/proper case and then imported into Tally.

The above option is enabled by default. There is no need to change this setting, and has been kept for backward compatibility purpose only.
