Getting Started
To evaluate the UDI-Magic Demo version, follow the underneath steps :-
Step 1
Download and Install UDI-Magic software from http://www.rtslink.com/images/udiMagicDemo.zip
Remarks:-
- On successful installation, a shortcut for UDI-Magic appears on your Windows Desktop.
- By default, UDI-Magic gets installed in "c:\udi-magic" folder.
Step 2
Start Tally Software and Create a new Company (say TESTING)
PS:

Set the Financial Year and Books Beginning Date
to 01/04/2007. Herein, old date is required as some of the sample Excel sheet contain
old-data.
- Use option "Gateway of Tally >> Alt+F2 " to set the Accounting period to
01/04/2007 to 31/03/2010 (as required).
Step 3
Next,
Minimize Tally Software.
Step 4
Next, start UDI-Magic Software.
Remarks:-
- When you run UDI-Magic, a Registration windows is displayed. Close the Registration window and click on the Next button.
Step 5
Next, select option "Excel to Tally"
Step 6
Next, select option "Single Excel sheet"
Step 7
Next, select the following options :-
Data-type : Voucher
Excel-File Name : Voucher - Sales Vouchers
with StockItems
Remarks:-

Keep the "Use separate file for XML tags" as un-checked (i.e. un-ticked)
Step 8
Next, click on the START button to import data from Excel into Tally.
Remarks:-
- If everything goes fine, records given in the Excel sheet will be imported into
Tally.
- To view the records imported into Tally, use the following option :-
"Gateway of Tally >> Display >> Daybook >> Alt+F2".
Next, specify the period as 01/04/2007 to 31/03/2010 (as required).
- The UDI-Magic Demo version imports limited records only (5 vouchers / 10 Masters)
Sample Excel sheet formats
Few Excel sheets get created automatically when UDI-Magic is run for the 1st time.
These Excel sheets are created in the "c:\udi-magic" folder.
