{"id":185,"date":"2012-12-11T11:24:48","date_gmt":"2012-12-11T05:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rtslink.com\/tally-erp\/?p=185"},"modified":"2012-12-11T11:24:48","modified_gmt":"2012-12-11T05:54:48","slug":"could-not-connect-to-tally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rtslink.com\/tally-erp\/2012\/12\/could-not-connect-to-tally\/","title":{"rendered":"Could not connect to Tally"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><strong>PROBLEM\/SYMPTON<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>1) Error: Could not not connect to Tally\u00a0 (<em>Even though Tally is running<\/em>)<\/div>\n<div>2) Error: No Company is Open in Tally\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (<em>Even though Tally is running and a Company is Open<\/em>)<\/div>\n<div>.<\/div>\n<div><strong>RESOLUTION<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">STEP 1 &#8211; CHANGE THE PORT NUMBER IN TALLY<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From the Gateway of Tally,  use the option &#8220;F12 &gt;&gt; Advanced Configuration&#8221; to change the Port Number.<\/p>\n<p><em>Remarks :-<\/em><br \/>\n<em>a) The default Port Number is 9000. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>b) You can change  it to 9001 or 9002 or 9003 or so on.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>c) The Tally Software must be restarted  for the effect to take place.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>d) The new Port Number must appear in the  &#8220;Gateway of Tally&#8221; srceen. Refer <a title=\"tally port number\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rtslink.com\/images\/tally-port-number.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">the screen snapshot<\/a> which shows the  default Tally Port Number 9000. In your case, it should show the Port Number as  9001 or 9002 or whatever you have set it to.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>e) If the Port Number still does  not appear in Tally, try changing the Port Number to a different one say (10001  or 10002 or 10003 so on). If still you do not get the Port Number in the Gateway  of Tally screen, please contact Tally Solutions, Bangalore or the Vendor from  whom you purchased Tally Software.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">STEP 2 &#8211; CHANGE THE PORT NUMBER IN UDIMAGIC<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You must set the same Port  Number (which you have set in Tally) in UDIMagic Software.<\/p>\n<p>1) Go to &#8220;My Computer &gt;&gt; C drive&#8221;<br \/>\n2) Go to the &#8220;UDI-Magic&#8221; folder. (i.e.  c:\\udi-magic folder)<br \/>\n3) Locate and Open the file &#8220;UDI-MAGIC.INI&#8221;  (Configuration file) in Notepad.<br \/>\n4) Search (and add if not found) for the  section <strong>[Tally]<\/strong> and add the <strong>ServerPort<\/strong> option. Your &#8220;udi-magic.ini&#8221; file will  look as follows :-<\/p>\n<p><strong>[Tally]<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ServerPort=9001<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> <\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<em>Remarks:-<br \/>\nSpecify the ServerPort value as required. i.e. if you have set the Port in Tally  to 9001, then the same Port Number is to be specified in UDI-Magic.ini file.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>5)  Save the &#8220;udi-magic.ini&#8221; file<br \/>\n6) Start UDIMagic software.
